I WAS GLUED TO THE SCREEN, WHEN I SAW THE
NEWS
OF A HELICOPTER THAT CRASHED AND THE PILOT WORE BLUE
I FEEL SELFISH TO SAY, I FIRST THOUGHT OF MY FRIENDS, I THOUGH OF
MY FAMILY AND MY AGENCY TOO.
AS A DISPATCHER I THOUGHT "WOW!"
COULD THIS BE TRUE?
IF I WERE THE ONE...WHAT WOULD I DO?
WOULD I KEEP IT TOGETHER AND CONTINUE TO WORK?
KNOWING OUR BROTHER IS OUT THERE AND HE'S HURT!
YOU HOPE AND YOU PREY..PLEASE DON'T LET IT
BE.
PLEASE LORD..OH PLEASE, IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE.
HE'S TOO YOUNG...HE'S TOO STRONG..
HE CAN SURVIVE.."HURRY UP MEDICS!" PLEASE FIND HIM
ALIVE.
THE SILENCE IS PAINFUL, THE THOUGHTS CROSS
YOUR MIND
FIRST OFFICER ON SCENE..HE IS NOT THERE IN TIME..
IT'S NOBODYS FAULT, AN ACCIDENT PERHAPS...
BUT THE LOSS IS THE GREATEST, HIS LIFE IS WHAT COST.
WHO COULD HAVE SEEN IT? WHO COULD HAVE KNOW?
A TEST RUN..PREVENTION..IT WAS ALL IN THIS ZONE.
STANDARD..ROUTINE..THIS IS ALL THAT YOU HEAR.
SO WHAT HAPPENED THIS TIME? HE SHOULD STILL BE HERE.
AS I WATCH THE NEWS, I, STILL WONDER WHY?
WHY MUST THIS HAPPEN TO ONE WHO SAVES LIVES?
TO PROTECT AND TO SERVE
THESE WORDS ARE SO TRUE, SO WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN TO YOU?
MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU SAN JOSE
TO THE FAMILY OF THIS HERO ON SUCH THIS SAD DAY.
MAY YOU ALL HAVE THE COURAGE TO GROW AND BE PROUD
OF THIS FALLEN HERO WHO AT THE END STILL PROTECTED THE CROWD!
