I once saw a police car at the age of threes, and thought,
"Thats what I want to do, and thats who I want to be."
"I want to have my red and blues flashing at you."
I want to be the one who pulls you over when youre
driving too fast,
I want to be the one to help when you run out of gas.
I want to be the one little kids look up to,
I want to be the one who knows just what to do.
I want to be the one who locks you up when you beat
your wife,
I want to be the one wholl lay down his life.
I want to be the one whos mad at you,
Because youve been drinking and you thought,
"Im fine, Ill drive home too."
And I dont want to be the one knocking on your
door saying,
"Daddy didnt wear a seatbelt, he wont be coming
home anymore."
Now when the time for me has come,
And youre wondering where Ive gone.
Dont worry, Im never far away,
Ill be watching you each and every day.
Just look in your rearview mirror and youll see
thats where Ill be,
Always watching and waiting,
Always with my red and blues watching over you.
