"Shoot Out" |
Today
is the day it will be decided
My old friend solemnly confided
Be fast on the draw and light on the trigger
You'll do just fine, that's what I figger
The
sun hung high in the sweltering sky
And everyone knew the time was nigh
History was about to record the story
Would I fall in shame or bask in glory
We
stepped off about 15 paces
No expression on anyone's faces
The signal came for us to draw
A flash of gun powder is all I saw
I
was still standing when the smoke started to clear
Now was the time to confirm my worst fear
The crowd started cheering out of the blue
But I saw my opponent still standing too
My
breathing quickened, my heart was a race
As I glared at the man without a face
I had performed well, as was my plan
Until the next time I challenge the paper man.
