"Tell Them I'm Sorry"

Lord I ask that you stay close to my children today
while someone tells them mommy has gone away.
My son is sensitive he will take the news hard,
my daughter is too young to understand it all.

I ask that you give strength to the bearers of the news,
give them courage to comfort the babysitter too.
See Lord, there's no daddy at home
so she may not know what to do.

Will you stay with the kids as they continue to grieve?
Help them be strong, and always believe.
Can you tell them I'm sorry for not coming home?
Leave them my badge, please Lord don't leave them alone.

Will you tell them I'm safe now,
and feeling no pain.

Tell them I'm working for you now
and I'll see them again.
