"The Christian Cop" 

Did you ever want to be a cop,
drive a car with lights on top,
Wear a badge, wear a gun
and be a help to everyone?

Well me I got to do it all
and didn’t even miss my call
For everywhere that I was sent,
I took the truth I represent

Jesus Christ, Gods only Son,
who shed His blood for everyone
Drunks and druggies, killers too,
liars, thieves, those in blue

Teachers, preachers, businessmen,
Kings and Queens for all have sinned
Then one day the Chief told me,
if this is where you want to be

Keep your God away from here,
for I’m the one that you should fear
I told the Chief I can’t obey,
cause Jesus is the only way

The only way to peace within,
the only way to conquer sin,
The only way to save a soul,
the only way that I’ll patrol!

Now he knew just where I stood,
and what he asked, I never could
I’d just seen too much fruitfulness,
to ever try and second guess

The restoration or the fame,
that I have known in Jesus name
Then it came as no surprise,
I was told to compromise

Separate your church and state
or get prepared to terminate
Well I refused to change my mind
and told the Chief that I resign

Easter Sunday ninety-five,
Jesus Christ is still alive!!
